Presented by the one and only headline host of Apple Beats One radio station, Julie Adenuga, “Don’t @ Me” has been one of the most talked about events since its launch in October 2018. Some of the best UK artists such as Ghetts, P Money, Lady Leshurr and Ms Banks have all graced the stage with their live performances alongside resident house band, The Compozers, who never fail to put on a show with their live renditions. They are incredible at recreating some of our favourite hits, from old school hip hop to new school Afrobeats with the combination of both strings and keys, bringing the event to life.
You are sure to see Julie in the crowd getting into spontaneous dancing competitions with the crowd with all the “Eyyys” to match! At Thursday night’s show, the special guest for the evening was the beautiful and talented Ray Blk, who may we say, sounds just as amazing live as she does in her records. We had the chance to hear her perform some of her hit songs including, ‘My hood’, along with her beautiful rendition of Beyonce and Wizkid’s Brown skin girl which had everyone singing their hearts out.
DamnShaq, Donch and Nadia Jae were the guest DJs on the night, with back to back hits upon hits - we knew the party was really about to start when Shaq’s top came off! The building was also filled with British stars Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya, Doctor Who’s Tosin Cole, BBC THREE’s Famalam star Tom Moutchi and last but not least, Samson Kayo. From forming mosh pits and dance circles to singing our hearts out in unison, the whole ambience was amazing - people genuinely came out to have a great time; it even made us forget it was a weekday!
We would also like to give a shout out to the newfound alcohol mixer on the night, double coffee patron and cranberry juice, which would have you hearing sounds and reaching for items that weren’t even in sight.
In a nutshell, we can not wait for the next event!
