A FEW CUTE THINGS TO DO THIS WINTER

Updated: Dec 18, 2018

We thought we would write you a short and sweet list on a few things you could get up to this winter season, especially while you have a few days spare from the office during the festive period. Do let us know if you have discovered any hidden gems that we may have missed but for now, here are our favourite few to get you in the mood for Christmas!

1. OUTDOOR ICE SKATING @ SOMERSET HOUSE

Why not get right into the Christmas spirit by visiting the outdoor skating rink down at the Somerset House? It could be a great Instagrammable evening out with the girls or even a romantic trip for two. Surrounded by fairy lights, the ice rink turns into a dance floor and so we're sure you wouldn't want to miss out on this! The rink will be open until mid January and tickets go from £11. Grab a friend or two and enjoy!

2. WINTER WONDERLAND, HYDE PARK

This is the Christmas event of the year we all look forward to! The Winter fair which also hosts an outdoor skating rink and Christmas Market is back. It is one of the top tourist attractions during the Christmas period and a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. With plenty to do including the rides and entertainments, there are plenty pit stops you can make to grab some food, a sweet treat or even a festive drink. Entry is FREE but ride/food & drink prices vary!

3. CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IN OXFORD STREET

Apart from the busy sights on the streets during this season, Oxford Street is such a beautiful place to shop during the Winter period. Now that the Christmas lights have been switched on, it carries such a festive feel to Central London as well as all the deco you find in the high street stores. Have a little wander around John Lewis & Partners, the infamous Selfridges and Debenhams to get a jist of exactly what we mean. Apart from Oxford Street, smaller branched off sections of the area may be more your thing such as Regent St, Bond Street or Carnaby St, where you will find more boutique style stores, a little smaller but still great shopping alternatives! Oh, and there are plenty of restaurants to grab some food from - to be honest, you'll be pretty spoilt for choice!

4. SOUTHBANK CENTRE CHRISTMAS MARKET

This Christmas market happens each and every year and it is such a lovely experience. There are a few stalls which vary from hot chocolates, mulled wines and your sweet treats such as your crepes and waffles as well as your Christmas goodies and crafts. Overlooking the Thames, the night view is stunning, adding to the Christmas decorations on display which is every reason why this is a great place to add to your festivities.
